Fly Fishing Fundamentals Session
A structured off-water and near-water instructional session designed to build complete fly fishing competence before stepping into the stream.
This focused learning block combines casting mechanics, knot tying, rigging, and line management into one intentional training session. The goal is simple — build skill, remove guesswork, and prepare you to fish confidently and independently.
Sessions are flexible and can be held wherever works best for you — from Iowa City area parks and open spaces to streamside instruction in the Driftless. We will come to you when possible, or we can select a location that fits your goals.
All necessary equipment is included, including rod, reel, fly line, and foundational gear described below.

When weather moves in or the fishing day winds down, we bring the craft indoors.
Our fly tying sessions are hands on, relaxed, and built around patterns that match the water you just fished. Whether you are in Iowa City, along the corridor, or up in the Driftless, we will come to you and create a session that fits your group.
