First Watch Fly Co. was built by families shaped by service and sustained by the outdoors.

Our families come from military and law enforcement backgrounds, with decades spent taking care of others. Service did not just define our careers. It shaped our home. I am Gary Ronzheimer. I served 20 years in the United States Navy as a Corpsman and nearly two decades in EMS, including critical care and leadership as an EMS Chief. My wife,  Jolisa, serves in law enforcement. Our kids grew up around the realities of public safety. Early mornings. Late nights. Missed holidays. And the quiet understanding that responsibility does not clock out.

      We also know what it is like to love someone who serves. To carry the stress that follows them home. To feel the impact service has not just on the individual, but on the people standing beside them. Families carry their own weight, often quietly, and they deserve restoration too.

First Watch is the shift where everything resets. Gear is checked. Minds are cleared. You show up steady and intentional before the day turns chaotic. That mindset followed us from service into the outdoors.

     Fly fishing became a way to slow down without shutting down. To focus without pressure. To reconnect with ourselves, with each other, and with something real. It was not escape. It was restoration. Time on the water created space for reflection, learning, and calm that carried back into everyday life.
